Due to the COVID-19 quarantine, we have had to adapt to our new lifestyles. Now that we are no longer attending school on campus, we have to manage our time so that we finish our curricular activities for the day; but there are many other things that go into life other than our schoolwork, and we each have a routine that helps us to manage our anxiety level and meet our goals.
The question is, what do we do? One (big) answer is, establish a routine and stick to it.
Here’s an example of a typical daily list of activities (keep in mind the time difference - we are 3 hours ahead of Arizona time):
6:00-11:00 am Get food
9:00am-11:00am - Chores
11:15am-1:00pm - School
1:00pm-2:00pm - IGNIS Project task list
2:00pm-3:00pm - Lunch
3:00pm-5:00pm - Workout
5:00pm-6:00pm - Cook dinner
6:00pm-7:30pm - Eat dinner with family
7:30pm-10:00pm - Family time / relaxation
By having a schedule for everyday it allows us to create structure in our lives, which during this time is often hard to manage. By using time management, we have lowered our levels of stress and anxiety because as seniors we have many deadlines.
We use this time management chart to visualize our deadlines and adjust accordingly to be able to enjoy a healthy family life.
Here are some resources that we used:
